Good Intentions
Good intentions often line the path of inaction. And I am certainly guilty of this. In the head-long rush to realize the dream of finally moving and shaping our homestead, I let everything else grow stale. Including this blog. Now that we are home at last, we can look towards the future.
The past 6 months has been filled to the brim with challenges. Many of them expected, but quite a few unexpected as well. What was supposed to be a month long trip to Seattle in February to prep our home for market, quickly snowballed into a multi-month, tumultuous experience. In February I had no doubt the Seattle real estate market was hot. In March everything went topsy-turvey.
Home at Last
Today we are finally back home in the Lost Pines Forest of Texas. Standing at the end of one path and peering down a new branch I can finally take a breath and take stock of what is important to me and my family.
The one thing that remains constant for us is that good food, good health and the ability to express ourselves remains paramount. Especially now more than ever. A central part to this plan is documenting and sharing this journey. Why? Because I know reading the stories of folks that took a similar path helped empower us to do the same. Pictures and videos are always a bonus!
So as we enter this phase of discovery, I plan to post often. Focusing on short tidbits as well as some longer essays. But the point is to document and share. If not for you, then for myself. Because if nothing else, this blog serves as my journal. And reflecting back I realize just how far we’ve come from growing our first porch tomato to now planning a large garden.
It’s good to be home at last.
