If you happen to live or be in the Seattle area next Saturday, you might want to think about picking up some tickets to Seattle Tilth’s Chicken Coop and Urban Farm Tour.
During the event, urban homesteaders, gardeners, chicken keepers and more show off their innovations in the urban farming. Some highlights I’m hoping to see include chicken tunnels, water capturing systems and bees. The tour is coordinated by Seattle Tilth, a local nonprofit that manages several community educational gardens, hosts community events and provides a variety of classes about gardening, chicken keeping and more.
Since I live in the South Seattle area, I’ll concentrate my visits on those locations. If you happen to see me, say hi (I’ll be with my husband as well and will have a fairly large camera in tow to take event photos).
I hope to see you there!
